At Europe’s largest Christmas-themed market, you can enjoy a top-class festive entertainment program!

The flying Santa Claus and his helpers, Snow White and her dwarfs, ice princesses and snowmen, gingerbread women, “living” candy canes, and winter fairies dressed in LED costumes – they all come to the Cranger Weihnachtszauber to create magical Christmas moments for the whole family.

How to get to Cranger Weihnachtszauber

Cranger Weihnachtszauber takes place on the Cranger Kirmesplatz in Herne – right in the heart of the Ruhr region – and is easy to reach by public transport, bike, or car.

Getting here by bike or e-scooter:
There are 250 bicycle parking spaces available near the entrance.
A large parking area for e-scooters is also provided.
Both parking areas are located on the street "An der Cranger Kirche".

Getting here by public transport:
From Herne station and Wanne-Eickel main station, several bus lines take you to Cranger Weihnachtszauber in just a few minutes.

From Wanne-Eickel Central Station::
Line 323 to the stop Crange
Line 322 (Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays between 4:00 PM and 10:00 PM)
Linie 342 to the stop Fred-Endrikat-Str.

From Herne Station:
Line 323 to the stop Crange
Line 322 (Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays between 4:00 PM and 10:00 PM)

From Herten/Marl:
Linie SB27 to the stop Recklinghauser Str. (500m walking distance)

For train travel from surrounding cities, we recommend changing to a bus at Wanne-Eickel Central Station. Wanne-Eickel Central Station connects you to many nearby cities with ease!

Getting here by car:
If you're coming via the A42 motorway from the direction of Gelsenkirchen, please take the Herne-Wanne exit and follow the signs to Parking Lot 3. For easier access, an extra turning point has been set up on Dorstener Straße – making your arrival even more convenient! If you’re arriving via the Herne-Crange exit, follow the signs to Parking Lots 1 and 3. If you're coming from Herne via Heerstraße, please use Parking Lot 2. More than 1,500 parking spaces are available.

Parking costs just €5.

Cranger Weihnachtszauber is open daily from November 20 to December 30, 2025 (closed on December 24 and 25). Opening hours are Monday to Friday from 2:00 PM to 9:45 PM, and Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 PM to 9:45 PM. On Sunday of the Dead, Cranger Weihnachtszauber is open from 6:00 PM to 9:45 PM, and on December 26 from 12:00 PM to 9:45 PM.

The flying Santa Claus

At dusk, a very special spectacle takes place in the sky above the Cranger Weihnachtszauber: In his sleigh and with his reindeer team, Santa Claus flies over the treetops!

Children’s eyes will sparkle when Santa Claus stops his sleigh above the fairy tale forest and tells his stories about Rudolph, the North Pole, and a wonderful Christmas celebration.

The flying Santa Claus at the Cranger Weihnachtszauber is presented by the high-wire artist family Oliver Traber, who have already thrilled international audiences (including Paris, Champs-Élysées) with this unique attraction.

Bus and group trips to the Cranger Weihnachtszauber

With over 100 attractions, shows, market stalls, and indoor and outdoor dining options, the Cranger Weihnachtszauber is the perfect destination for a group trip.

A visit to the Cranger Weihnachtszauber guarantees your guests a magical and varied experience for all ages.

Since we want to make your stay at the Cranger Weihnachtszauber as comfortable as possible for you and your guests, reserved bus parking spaces are available on the event grounds. Tokens for food and drinks are also provided for bus drivers at the event office near the ferris wheel.

As a tour operator, you can visit the Cranger Weihnachtszauber with your travel group without prior registration. The recommended length of stay is 4 to 6 hours.
