New rides, more magic: Discover Cranger Weihnachtszauber 2025

When the lights come on in Herne, the scent of roasted almonds fills the air, and Christmas melodies enchant the visitors, it’s that time again: Cranger Weihnachtszauber opens its gates for the seventh time on Thursday, November 20, 2025 – and invites guests to the Cranger fairground until December 30, 2025. Covering an area of 30,000 square meters, Europe’s largest mobile Christmas theme park once again promises an unforgettable experience for the whole family.

The festive opening will take place on Friday, November 21, 2025, starting at 5:30 PM. During this magical moment, the large Christmas tree will also be officially lit – a highlight that transforms the square into a sparkling sea of lights and marks the beginning of the magical Christmas season.

New rides – thrills guaranteed!

Several new attractions will bring fresh excitement in 2025: Happy Traveler, a modern round ride in the style of a Breakdance, creates a lively atmosphere with fast spins, upbeat music, and colorful light effects. Space X delivers futuristic thrills, the legendary Der Polyp returns and spins wildly. For the brave, Spuk offers pure goosebumps, while the little ones can enjoy animal-themed ride fun on Brunos freche Farm.

How to get to Cranger Weihnachtszauber

Cranger Weihnachtszauber takes place on the Cranger Kirmesplatz in Herne – right in the heart of the Ruhr region – and is easy to reach by public transport, bike, or car.

Getting here by bike or e-scooter:
There are 250 bicycle parking spaces available near the entrance.
A large parking area for e-scooters is also provided.
Both parking areas are located on the street "An der Cranger Kirche".

Getting here by public transport:
From Herne station and Wanne-Eickel main station, several bus lines take you to Cranger Weihnachtszauber in just a few minutes.

From Wanne-Eickel Central Station:
Line 323 to the stop Crange
Line 322 (Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays between 2:30 PM and 10:00 PM)
Linie 342 to the stop Fred-Endrikat-Str.

From Herne Station:
Line 323 to the stop Crange
Line 322 (Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays between 2:30 PM and 10:00 PM)

From Herten/Marl:
Linie SB27 to the stop Recklinghauser Str. (500m walking distance)

For train travel from surrounding cities, we recommend changing to a bus at Wanne-Eickel Central Station. Wanne-Eickel Central Station connects you to many nearby cities with ease!

Getting here by car:
If you're coming via the A42 motorway from the direction of Gelsenkirchen, please take the Herne-Wanne exit and follow the signs to Parking Lot 3. For easier access, an extra turning point has been set up on Dorstener Straße – making your arrival even more convenient! If you’re arriving via the Herne-Crange exit, follow the signs to Parking Lots 1 and 3. If you're coming from Herne via Heerstraße, please use Parking Lot 2. More than 1,500 parking spaces are available.

Parking costs just €5.

A visit to the Cranger Weihnachtszauber guarantees your guests a magical and varied experience for all ages.

Since we want to make your stay at the Cranger Weihnachtszauber as comfortable as possible for you and your guests, reserved bus parking spaces are available on the event grounds. Tokens for food and drinks are also provided for bus drivers at the event office near the ferris wheel.
