What’s the best way to get to the Cranger Weihnachtszauber?

You can reach Cranger Weihnachtszauber either by public transportation or with your own car.

Getting here by public transport:
From Herne station and Wanne-Eickel main station, several bus lines take you to Cranger Weihnachtszauber in just a few minutes.

From Wanne-Eickel Central Station::
Line 323 to the stop Crange
Line 322 (Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays between 4:00 PM and 10:00 PM)
Linie 342 to the stop Fred-Endrikat-Str.

From Herne Station:
Line 323 to the stop Crange
Line 322 (Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays between 4:00 PM and 10:00 PM)

From Herten/Marl:
Linie SB27 to the stop Recklinghauser Str. (500m walking distance)

For train travel from surrounding cities, we recommend changing to a bus at Wanne-Eickel Central Station. Wanne-Eickel Central Station connects you to many nearby cities with ease!

Where can I park when I arrive at the Cranger Weihnachtszauber?

In general, all visitors to our winter event can use parking lots 1, 2, and 3 located near the event grounds. Please follow the parking signs upon arrival. Our staff will be on-site to guide you to a parking space.

If you’re arriving by car via the A42 motorway from the direction of Gelsenkirchen, please take the Herne-Wanne exit and head to Parking Lot 3. For easier access, an additional turning area has been created on Dorstener Straße. If you’re coming via the Herne-Crange exit, follow the signs to Parking Lots 1 and 3. Visitors arriving from Herne via Heerstraße should use Parking Lot 2. More than 1,500 parking spaces are available.

Parking costs just €5.

Near the entrance, 250 bicycle parking spaces are available. There is also a large designated area for e-scooters. Both parking areas are located on the street ‘An der Cranger Kirche’.

When is the Cranger Weihnachtszauber open?

The Cranger Weihnachtszauber is open daily from November 20, 2025, to December 30, 2025 (closed on Christmas Eve and December 25).

The opening hours are:

Monday to Friday from 2:00 PM to 9:45 PM

Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 PM to 9:45 PM

Sunday of the Dead from 6:00 PM to 9:45 PM

December 26 from 12:00 PM to 21:45 PM

What is the admission fee for the Cranger Weihnachtszauber?

Admission to the Cranger Weihnachtszauber costs €2 per person.

The admission fee also includes a €1 discount for a ride on the new WhiteWheel Ferris wheel with enclosed gondolas.

Enjoy an unforgettable visit to our magical Christmas wonderland for the whole family with our unique festive show program:

  • 3 permanent photo spots featuring popular characters from film and television
  • Fire show on stage (3 times a week)
  • Elf magic show on the Weihnachtszauber stage (3 times a week)

  • Snow White and Cinderella as live performers in the enchanted forest
  • Impressive walking acts
  • Sing-along musical with two ice princesses and a snowman
  • Spectacular high-wire show “The Flying Santa Claus” (twice daily)

Payments for rides, food, and drinks are made directly at the individual vendors.

What happens if it rains or snows?

Don’t let the weather spoil your fun at the Cranger Weihnachtszauber! Many attractions are covered and offer adventure and fun in any weather. The food and beverage vendors at the Cranger Weihnachtszauber provide covered and heated seating for over 1,500 people. So, a “warm spot” at the Cranger Weihnachtszauber is guaranteed.

Can I bring my dog?

Dogs are allowed at the Cranger Weihnachtszauber, provided they are kept on a leash. Exceptions are so-called listed dogs/fighting dogs. Dogs are not permitted in the rides and shows, as well as in some food and beverage establishments. Please observe the notices at the individual venues.

No money left – are there ATMs at the Cranger Weihnachtszauber?

Yes, there is an ATM directly on the festival grounds of the Cranger Weihnachtszauber.

Is the Cranger Weihnachtszauber accessible for people with disabilities?

Visiting the Cranger Weihnachtszauber is easy and enjoyable for guests with disabilities. The entrances to the festival grounds and many attractions are equipped with flat, wheelchair-accessible ramps. We are committed to making as many attractions and shows as possible accessible to people with disabilities. Designated parking spaces for guests with disabilities are available at the front of the visitor parking area. Accessible restrooms are located throughout the festival grounds.

In addition to the presence of medical services, all participating vendors and security staff are happy to assist—please don’t hesitate to ask if you need help.

I’ve lost something – is there a lost and found at the Cranger Weihnachtszauber?

Yes, the lost and found is located in the event office opposite the real ice rink, next to the first aid station. You can also find the exact location on our themed market map at point 9. Please hand in any lost items here. If you’ve lost something, feel free to ask at the lost and found. The lost and found is staffed at all times during the opening hours of the Cranger Weihnachtszauber.

Am I allowed to bring my backpack to the Cranger Weihnachtszauber?

It is recommended to avoid bringing backpacks and large bags. It’s best to leave anything you don’t need at home so you can fully enjoy the Cranger Weihnachtszauber. After all, the most relaxed way to experience the Cranger Weihnachtszauber is without a backpack or bag. Bag checks may be carried out at the entrances.

Which items am I not allowed to bring to the Cranger Weihnachtszauber?

The following items are not allowed: pepper spray, blunt, striking, thrusting, stabbing, and firearms, electroshock devices, corrosive and staining liquids, pyrotechnics, as well as gas-filled balloons and similar items with a metal-coated surface. Additionally, bottles, cups, mugs, or cans made of fragile or hard materials (glass, PET, plastic, etc.) are not permitted.

How to get to Cranger Weihnachtszauber

Cranger Weihnachtszauber takes place on the Cranger Kirmesplatz in Herne – right in the heart of the Ruhr region – and is easy to reach by public transport, bike, or car.

Getting here by bike or e-scooter:
There are 250 bicycle parking spaces available near the entrance.
A large parking area for e-scooters is also provided.
Both parking areas are located on the street "An der Cranger Kirche".

Cranger Weihnachtszauber is open daily from November 20 to December 30, 2025 (closed on December 24 and 25). Opening hours are Monday to Friday from 2:00 PM to 9:45 PM, and Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 PM to 9:45 PM. On Sunday of the Dead, Cranger Weihnachtszauber is open from 6:00 PM to 9:45 PM, and on December 26 from 12:00 PM to 9:45 PM.
