How to get to Cranger Weihnachtszauber

Cranger Weihnachtszauber takes place on the Cranger Kirmesplatz in Herne – right in the heart of the Ruhr region – and is easy to reach by public transport, bike, or car.

Getting here by bike or e-scooter:
There are 250 bicycle parking spaces available near the entrance.
A large parking area for e-scooters is also provided.
Both parking areas are located on the street "An der Cranger Kirche".

Getting here by public transport:
From Herne station and Wanne-Eickel main station, several bus lines take you to Cranger Weihnachtszauber in just a few minutes.

From Wanne-Eickel Central Station::
Line 323 to the stop Crange
Line 322 (Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays between 4:00 PM and 10:00 PM)
Linie 342 to the stop Fred-Endrikat-Str.

From Herne Station:
Line 323 to the stop Crange
Line 322 (Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays between 4:00 PM and 10:00 PM)

From Herten/Marl:
Linie SB27 to the stop Recklinghauser Str. (500m walking distance)

For train travel from surrounding cities, we recommend changing to a bus at Wanne-Eickel Central Station. Wanne-Eickel Central Station connects you to many nearby cities with ease!

Getting here by car:
If you're coming via the A42 motorway from the direction of Gelsenkirchen, please take the Herne-Wanne exit and follow the signs to Parking Lot 3. For easier access, an extra turning point has been set up on Dorstener Straße – making your arrival even more convenient! If you’re arriving via the Herne-Crange exit, follow the signs to Parking Lots 1 and 3. If you're coming from Herne via Heerstraße, please use Parking Lot 2. More than 1,500 parking spaces are available.

Parking costs just €5.

Opening Hours of Cranger Weihnachtszauber

Cranger Weihnachtszauber is open daily from November 20 to December 30, 2025 (closed on December 24 and 25). Opening hours are Monday to Friday from 2:00 PM to 9:45 PM, and Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 PM to 9:45 PM. On Sunday of the Dead, Cranger Weihnachtszauber is open from 6:00 PM to 9:45 PM, and on December 26 from 12:00 PM to 9:45 PM.

The Alt Wiener Pferdekarussell

The Alt Wiener Pferdekarussell is one of the most popular attractions at the Cranger Weihnachtszauber – and no wonder, it's a true one-of-a-kind that you rarely see these days.

40 horse figures rise and fall on the platform of this beautifully designed historic carousel. The roof structure rotates in the opposite direction, creating an additional visual effect.

By the way: The roof structure of the carousel was the first of its kind and served as a model for today’s wave swinger carousels.

Whether as an aspiring race car driver, young firefighter, or brave pilot – in the children's paradise, every young guest will quickly find their favorite vehicle.

The children's paradise features more than ten different gondolas. A Formula 1 car in classic Ferrari red is included, along with a tractor, moped, off-road vehicle, helicopter, and rocking horse.

Children from age 0 can enjoy a carousel ride when accompanied by an adult; from age 4, they can ride on their own. Adult companions always ride for free in the children's paradise.

The Rentier-Flug

A very special highlight for all ages at the Cranger Weihnachtszauber is the unique reindeer flight.

The reindeer sleigh gondolas lift up to 8 meters high into the air.

Each sleigh seats two children and one adult companion, or two adults Even very young children from 0 years old are allowed to ride. Children from 6 years old can also fly without accompaniment and feel like Santa Claus himself in the reindeer sleigh!

The White Wheel
